According to him, it is often difficult for state institutions to investigate public officials while they are in office due to the influence and power associated with their positions.
Mr. Bentil argued that requiring former appointees to remain in the country for a year after their tenure would make it easier for institutions such as the Office of the Special Prosecutor and the Auditor-General to conduct investigations and seek clarification on matters relating to their time in office.
