Former Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Inusah Fuseini, has called on politicians to exercise caution and honesty in their public accusations following a dispute between Alexander Afenyo-Markin and Sammy Gyamfi.
Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana, Mr. Fuseini said political leaders must approach allegations with careful interrogation of the facts before drawing conclusions. He stressed that the issues surrounding the allegations should be thoroughly examined to establish the truth.
Mr. Fuseini also criticised a statement attributed to Afenyo-Markin in which he reportedly held Sammy Gyamfi solely responsible and said he would “pay for it.” According to Mr. Fuseini, such language is inappropriate for political leaders and could undermine responsible public discourse.
He further urged Sammy Gyamfi to provide evidence to support the allegations made against Afenyo-Markin to allow the matter to be properly investigated. Mr. Fuseini said all sides of the issue must be subjected to careful scrutiny and evidence-based investigation rather than political rhetoric.
