Former Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority, Madam Akosua Menu, has questioned the focus on personal attacks in the ongoing debate surrounding GoldBod and the Bank of Ghana (BoG).
Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana, Madam Menu asked why public discussion could not focus on what she described as the GH¢1.7 billion losses issue instead of shifting attention to individuals involved in the debate.
Adding that, people who raise questions about the operations of GoldBod and the Bank of Ghana often face personal attacks, arguing that the substantive issues should be discussed openly. She questioned why the matter could not be addressed through evidence-based public discourse.
Madam Menu also questioned Sammy Gyamfi’s decision to appear on television stations to discuss the issue, suggesting that greater attention should be given to examining the concerns surrounding the alleged losses rather than engaging in personal exchanges.
